Reason for Exupéry to write the Litlle Prince and how can imagination change moral and personal development?

What was the reason for Exupéry to write the book?

I think the author wanted to express his mind and he is trying to let the people be a part of his desires and his longinges. He is maybe one of the guys who is still thinking like a child and he combines his intelligent with his thinking like a child and wrote the book in this way. He wants to show the simple thinking the understanding of kids with examples like the drawing of the hat. He also wrote the book as a present for his friend and he wrote it after he crashed with his plane in the desert in Africa. The crash with the plane was maybe one trigger for him to write this book and maybe it helped him to process all his bad experience.

What can imagination do for a persons moral and personal development?

In my opinion imagination can help for a good development, but it also can disturb a development of a person. Especially for children is imagination an important and big part of development. But if you add too much to the reality your minds gets confused and you maybe become naive. I think imagination depends on education and a important part is also the influence of the parents.

Discussion Questions about the Little Prince

Disscussion topic one: Discuss time and death.

- the Little Prince has a limited  time on each planet

- he also is in rush because he is a traveller

- he has a limited time with the pilot

- the Little Prince needs a lot of time to understand statements and situations of the grown-ups he talks to

- I think the death isn't a big issue to think about for the Little Prince although he is often in danger

After these facts about the first theme you can think about the following questions:

- How does he spent his time?

- When is time a important fact in the book?

- Does the Little Prince spent his time responsibily?

Disscussion topic two:

How does the little prince appreciate his time spent with loved ones better?

How does it effect his relationship with them?

- he begins to think about the conversations he had an he tries to understand it.

- one effect about how he appreciates his time with loved people that he misses his flower. he thinks about the flower and he still loves her very much.

- his time with the pilot is limited and that's maybe one of the reasons why he him so many questions

- the fox is also a figure who wants to spent more time with the little prince and he is trying to tame him.
